Vision Days
Sometimes the best thing to do in business is take a step back and come up with the next chapter in an environment with all the right people to help you do that.
The majority of well-established businesses don't get the chance to reinvigorate their plan since the moment they write their very first business plan at the start of their journey.
So maybe your business is successful but you’re ready for that next step and want to create a plan to support in delivering that. A vision day is perfect for this.
Whether you’re expanding into new markets or territories or opening different sites or platforms, a vision day can help you pull together a plan that will drive you through the following years.
What we want to do is give you clarity for the future, align your financial targets with your business goals and help you keep on track.
What a vision day will provide for you is the confidence you need to take the next steps, cohesion and the tools for growth.
Get in touch with us to start planning for the next three years, or however long you feel is right for your business.

MWA fixes a start-up's struggle
"After 2 years of struggling as a start-up, a business made the decision to work with us utilising our business planning and advisory services.
By starting the relationship with an Entrepreneur’s Vision Day, we were able to identify the owners’ personal goals and pivot the business goals to match those.
By helping the owners structure a strong management team, it has given them the time to not only think about what they want but allow MWA to help plan how to achieve it, whether it be through internal growth, diversification, increased efficiencies or the use of software and AI.
As a direct result of this, what was a dual-site single-industry business is now a growing group with 12 venues and 2 office locations operating across 4 industries and an impressive head office function, yet the business owners are happier, less stressed and have regained the work/life balance that they desired."

An MWA Vision Day results in higher profitability
“One of the primary purposes of a Vision Day is truly identify and understand an owner's personal goals, traits and culture. We would then create a plan to make sure that their business matches these and work towards a structure that makes the business work for the owner, not the owner working for the business.
Sometimes the reason why a business isn’t fulfilling its potential is that there’s a clash in cultures or goals, as was the case with one client that came to MWA in 2024.
The company was structured as 2 departments, each run by one of the owners. During our Vision Day, it became apparent that the 2 owners had very different visions for the direction of the business, which was holding back both departments from achieving what they could.
As a result of this lightbulb moment, the directors agreed to split the company, each taking their own department in the direction that they wanted. Within 12 months, turnover across the 2 companies increased 220% and profitability 180%, with one owner successfully selling his company for £2.5m."
FAQs
A Vision Day (or an Entrepreneur's Vision Day) is used to identify your personal goals, wants and culture and how to get the business currently aligned with those.
It's its most fundamental element; it's the key to getting the business working for you, not you working for the business.
No, a strategy session might focus on changing something over the next 30-90 days, a Vision Day can look decades into the future.
A strategy session helps to optimise the business, a Vision Day designs what sort of business you're buildng.
A Vision Day is used to identify any cultural and structural changes needed to align the business with you. You will leave the session with an action plan and a task list to get to that place. Most clients will then use MWA to create a Business Plan on One Page (BPOP) to keep them focused, or a full Business Plan.
Vision Days are held in a peaceful environment at our offices in Manchester; it's important that you're physically, mentally and emotionally away from your business and able to give the time and energy needed for this reset.
No, a Vision Day is targeted at the business owner. Some clients have asked us to hold a separate, subsequent Business Vision Day, in order to help bring the management team into alignment with the outcomes from the Entreprenuer's Vision Day.
A business consultant should help you run your business 'better'. A Vision Day is the first stepping stone to identify what 'better' looks like for you.
We always recommend starting an advisory relationship with a Vision Day, which is then revisited annually, unless there is a significant event in the owner's personal life or their goals dramatically change.
Yes. A business vision day can help owners think about long-term goals such as succession planning or eventual business exit strategies. Aligning vision with financial planning ensures the business supports the owner’s personal and financial objectives.
What does an MWA Accounting Vision Day include?
During your vision day we will;
- Define your three to five year business vision
- Understand your personal and business goals
- Set revenue, profit ad cash targets
- Review team structure, capacity and capability
- Set some strategic priorities
- Identify areas of weakness
After this we will then stress test all of the above and turn it into a tangible plan.

"extremely friendly, approachable, and give clear advice. The team are highly efficient and go the extra mile for me and those that work with me. Whenever I have a query Richard is always on the end of the line to assist. I would highly recommend MWA to any other company looking for a reliable accountancy practice..."
Alex, Managing Director, UK Expert Medical

"...inputs and response times are fantastic ... advice has been timely, professional and commercial both in dealings with us and other professional advisers... it’s unusual to find an accountant in practice who speaks in plain English and is so commercially-minded, which is exactly what we have in MWA.”
Andy Scott, Chairman, REL Capital

"...great service from MWA Accounting every time, really pleased we switched across to them and they've really helped us out as a company over the last couple of years, always offering great advice, would certainly recommend."
